CHRISTINE SHOPE CAP Receives Certification

The International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP), the leading association for administrative support staff, has notified Christine Shope of Fort Mill, SC that she has earned the Certified Administrative Professional® (CAP®) rating. This advanced professional designation requires the individual to satisfy education and experience requirements, and pass a comprehensive four-part examination. The examination covers Office Systems and Technology, Office Administration, Management, and Advanced Organizational Management.
Shope has been an administrative professional for 25 years and a member of the Rock Hill Area Chapter of IAAP for four years. Shope received a diploma in Desktop Publishing and Design from NRI School in Washington, D.C. in July 1993 and works at Citicorp Trust Bank, fsb in Fort Mill as an Administrative Technician IV for the Director of Communications. Shope was formerly employed by Possehl Connector Services, Inc. in Rock Hill, SC as Executive Assistant to the President; The Schaeffler Group in Fort Mill as Marketing Coordinator; and A.F. Prince Associates in Charlotte, NC as Office/Production Manager.
The Institute for Certification, a department of IAAP, administers the Certified Administrative Professional program. Approximately 200 examination centers offer the exam worldwide the first consecutive Friday and Saturday of May and November. Since its inception in May 2001, nearly 2,700 individuals have achieved the coveted CAP rating. Benefits of certification include increased knowledge; greater respect from employers and peers; the possibility of 41 semester hours of college credit as recommended by the American Council on Education; and confidence to assume greater responsibilities. IAAP also administers the Certified Professional Secretary® (CPS®) program. More than 62,000 individuals have earned the CPS rating. Both CAP and CPS holders are invited to attend the annual Certification Seminar, which further enhances professional development.
